Rain Rain . .

I have a life, like the rest of the world I'm busy with the problems of today, and tomorrow; all this and more resumes while the clock continues to tick, reminding me that time is ever flowing and that I have to continue and play my part.

But that doesn't mean that I should forget to smell the flowers, admire the rain, and say hello to friends and loved ones. I truly believe that there is always time to do those little things that make us human, but it will always be up to us in the end of it all to make that time not only for others, but for ourselves as well.

Diffrent

Pictures belong to me (c) Skraps Inc.

Performing artists that night.

When I was younger I really never had a taste for Rap, Hip Hop, or even Pop Music, it didn't suit me and I didn't care for it much, I respected it but it just never made my 'must listen + add on playlist status'. I thought for the longest time I would just acknowledge it and grow up never bothering to listen to it, let alone give it a second chance. An yet here I am writing a blog post about it, don't know how it happened nor do I really care; just want to say thanks to all of the artist that night.

After going to this event presented by Rhyme Street-held at Silk City Diner; (Host: Myke Storm, DJ: Benzi Musiq) I opened my eyes to a whole new chapter in my life; all this because I was simply asked by a friend to take pictures of the event.
Not going to lie though, I was pretty nervous mostly because I didn't own a fancy camera or fancy lenses that would produce the most amazing shots ever witness by man kind. Yet I decided to accept the offer anyways despite my fear of being ridiculed, and shot everything like my life depended on it all while being fueled and driven by the tunes and lyrics of these wonderful artists each time they got on stage, all different in their respected ways.

Lets just say, it was a really [ different ] night to everything I usually experienced.

Some final thoughts about this event; Though I'm not musically talented to comment let alone critique on each artist work individually, I can honestly say that this is a whole other level of hip-hop that more people need to hear, or at least experience at least once if anything else.

2013 will be. . .

A year for creativity, adventures and a roller coaster ride of emotions yet to come. I spent my New Years Eve doing something I have been wishing to do since I was a child, I added it to my bucket list long ago and decided this year I would begin my list and tackle it head on by scratching off the first thing on the first day of the new year by. . .

Going to New York City to see the ball drop. As a small town girl from a nowhere town in Kansas I realized I have done so much over the years, but I haven't done nearly enough to satisfy my personal needs, goals and ambitions. I plan to change all that this year by becoming more creative, social and never forgetting who I am and where I stand amongst it all.

This year I plan to let my creativity flow 24/7 by always taking a sketch pad and pencil with me, as well as my camera to capture as many memories as possible. I'm doing a  365 project of pictures and I don't plan to stop that anytime soon, I hope to caption them each with small tidbits of my thoughts, likes and ideas.

I can't wait to see where this all goes.
I hope you all have a wonderful year and that each of you make it your own.
So a toast to each of you and your dreams.

Sincerely

Getting back on track

One day at a time.

Life is going by way to quickly and most of my friends are now all starting to move back home once graduation starts; some of them are moving farther away, while others are moving a few states away. Perhaps it's time I moved too.

Little Things

In all honesty I believe that the little things we miss from time to time can really make the adventure worth more, when given the chance.

→ Hello,

Jinyuan
Our drawings. "What makes us happy"

 The man and I

Meeting new people is such an exciting adventure in itself that I'm starting to slowly get used to its spontaneity. I enjoy hosting others from different cultures, when they come I want to show them all the places I enjoy also; but still being slightly new I wonder at times if they show me more then I show them? Because of my newest guest I found two new amazing places ( I wouldn't have thought twice about them, if it was not for her) that I cant wait to now show others as well. Readers please meet Jinyuan, she is from Shanghai and she is possibly the most bubbliest girl I have yet to meet so far. Instantly when I picked her up I was received with a warm hug, a genuine smile, and a wonderful thank you. Very kind she was and also very patient with my lack of hosting experience too, she is so sweet she might as well give me cavities. I can only hope we continue to stay in touch.

Thank you so much Jinyuan, you were such a wonderful guest I am at a loss of words once more,  I can only hope I have the honor of meeting you in China! Till then I hope that only smiles and kindness come your way.
